Impossible? Why are there no cheap $40k new full-size trucks

That's if we're assuming only the CEO was inflated and overpaid. Dismissing a 5x bump in pay in the same span that RAM and Dodge began struggling and losing market share is slightly dismissive. His bump in pay also coincided with cutting talent left and right. Which put them in financial...

Impossible? Why are there no cheap $40k new full-size trucks

In a 5 year span from 2019-2024 The CEO of Stellantis compensation went from 8.6 million (Manley 2019) euros per year to 40 million, a little more in USD almost 9 to 43. In that same time frame the GM CEO was low 20's to high 20's in total compensation. That peaked at 29 and then settled back...

Impossible? Why are there no cheap $40k new full-size trucks

I has to be a very vocal minority that wants a cheap full size truck. As you've mentioned I read about it in the comments every day but they just don't sell or didn't sell when offered. But I also chuckle at the thought of a large corporation not making any decisions from a "greed" standpoint lol.

New 2025 full-size SUVs Compared: Tahoe, Expedition, Armada and more!

Toyota has made a lot of interesting moves lately, some seem to be working ok but some are head scratchers. I have never subscribed to TRDJohns site just because it was so Toyota focused and I didn't get into YouTube truck stuff until I was looking for a replacement to my Tacoma, 2020ish. I...

    New engine and vehicle reliability?

A guy that's had an account for a while and I guess hates me and the site and needs to come back and visit to tell us. 🤷 I feel like that says more about him than us, but whatever, lol. The original intent of this post was to a get some discussion going about reliability and more importantly...

Did you read the news of why electric pickups are failing?

All good points I'm in a similar boat except towing more frequently less miles in one trip. Not to mention the cost of adding a level 2 charger at my home which I'm somewhat set up for but it would still be $$. I also think the biggest hit EV has taken recently is the huge reliability issues. I...

    R/C cars and trucks

My sons and I in their early teens got pretty into them. My older son really got into it and sunk a lot of money into the blue one. Every inch of the internals is custom and he mowed a lot of lawns to save up. The green one is mine it's a Redcat Gen 2 Scout, I just wanted something out of the...

Ram TRX returns? We’ll likely know June 8

Think about the whirlwind of mistakes at Stellantis\Dodge\RAM over the last few years. Pull the HEMI, discontinue the Charger and Challenger, come to the EV party way late with the cars and RAM. Terrible advertising campaign, Delay everything, reverse course, ignore the Durango, bring back the...

Ram TRX returns? We’ll likely know June 8

That would be cool, I think the more logical move for them would be to bring in the small compact truck that they already sell elsewhere (Brazil) and it looks much more like the Hyundai Santa Cruz than the Ford Maverick. I think part of the reason the Maverick sold so well is because it...

New 2025 full-size SUVs Compared: Tahoe, Expedition, Armada and more!

That's really good feedback and what I see being talked about on the Toyota forums I visit. It's not that it's slow but at the same time the some 1/4 mile videos Ive seen the 6.2 and the Ecoboost seem to walk it. You're right that it seems to be across the board for the Toyota turbos.

    New engine and vehicle reliability?

So, in summary... I'm not quite sure what you guys are smoking but pass some over here. I've owned several trucks in my life going back to the 1990's models. They were simpler, much easier to maintain and more reliable. It doesn't mean they didn't have issues, everything does, but nothing...

    New engine and vehicle reliability?

I do think there's something to it, what exactly ...I don't really know. But to continually dismiss it, I wouldn't do that either. The main point of my post was two fold, general new engine reliability and a port and direct injection, ya know "the way everyone should be building them" looks...
