Sadly, because they just had to add the button, I technically got what I paid for, so Chrysler won't take it back, which means I'd have to trade in the Big Horn to get the Rebel. Had I bought the Rebel in the first place, it would have only cost me about $8k more (and it has come down another $1500 now...) but I'd lose my shirt on a trade in... My payment is about $615 every two weeks, but if they took the Big Horn on trade, to sell me the Rebel, the payment would go up to $824 every two weeks, so, no, I'm not getting into a Rebel (unless this Big Horn explodes on me while I'm driving it, and insurance pays it off!)
I did buy this truck because it is gorgeous. The Rebel had a bunch of bells and whistles the Big Horn doesn't have, but the Big Horn gives a smoother ride on the road, handled better (with my studded tires, instead of the off road tires) - not sure how much the off road suspension played into it. I also felt some turbo lag when accelerating in the Rebel, but I get none of that in the Big Horn - not sure why that is... Plus, the Big Horn has the pano roof, which the wife loves. And honestly, the 1" lift in the Rebel isn't huge - I figure we'll just use the Jeep if we want to do some serious off roading, while this truck will still do almost everything the Jeep can do, except tight trails and hard core rock crawling - but the truck has a rear locker, which the Jeep doesn't have, so they kind of even out, depending on the goal. I'm starting to ramble - I've convinced myself more than once that one truck was the right one, then the other was the right one - and again - but when he told me today on the phone that they had added the axle lock button, and tested it, and it works as expected, I was surprised, but I wasn't angry/disappointed, other than in that it would have been nice to have the Rebel for a number of reasons, this truck also gets the job done. And I might just swap out the street tires when the warm weather hits, for some K03's on some 18" rims (17's would probably not give as smooth a ride on the road..)
