Can A New Ford Midsize EV Pickup Recreate “Model T” Moment Save Struggling Business?

Anything’s possible, but I think we’ve seen limited and narrow interest in electric trucks due to their many limitations. Maverick would have been awesome price wise but greedy dealers just added 15-20k markups ruining Ford’s best selling point, a cheap basic pickup-ish vehicle. If they hit the...

Free truck - What are you picking?

1 tacoma trailhunter 2. Skip, all seem to be equally problematic 3. I’d find a new 2022 F250 Tremor like the one I currently own.

    Bought another 24 Tacoma

Been a while and I thought I’d share an updated photo with the upgrades and add ons. I’m really enjoying the Tacoma and have just over 6k miles on it so far.

Trump Presidency affecting the U.S. truck market

Nicely written. Comprehensive and thoughtful, as always, Tim.

    Bought another 24 Tacoma

Long story short, my daughter‘s a farrier and her 01 ford explorer I bought her two years ago broke and she needed a new truck and wanted a 24 Tacoma. At 20 years old, she’s not a seasoned car buyer and negotiator, so I told her I’d sell her my 24 Silver Tacoma for what I paid for it two months...

First oil change at 1551 miles.

I’ve always had a process for my new vehicles. I take it easy for the first 1k miles, try to drive at 55 ish actively varying speeds whenever possible. Sometime between 1k and 1.5k I get the oil changed. For Toyota vehicles, I burn the 10k service coupon, which I did today at 1551 miles so I...

TRD Jon on truck payments and how much YouTube pays him

Tough market thats constantly changing. Keep doing what you do brother. Personally, not a Trdjon fan, neither is my autocorrect which renames hims Trojan. I mostly watch videos when I’l seeking information about a new purchase or wanting to better understand how to do or fix something. Other...

Your new truck must have a V8? Do engine cylinders even matter anymore?

Manufacturers mislead all the time on payload. Look for a small asterisk and you’ll see that payload is on the most stripped short bed single cab 4x2 model. All the weight of a quad cab, 4x4, long bed full of electronics and a heavy glass moonroof.

The truth about 2024 Tacoma transmissions failing

I think a lot of the USA spec models are necessary to comply with US Govt safety requirements, bumper heights, etc, that makes the “world” vehicle unimportable to the USA. On top of that, the US incentivizes manufacturers who build vehicles using US labor on US soil. I don’t think they ever...

    Love/hate on third gen Tundra

These last few posts are a good reminder that ”new” isn’t always ”better”. I’ve owned all 3 gen tundras and the 3rd is the most sophisticated for sure, and also has far more glitches related to that sophistication, ie electronics, epa goals reducing durability of some components like bumpers...

2025 Ford Super Duty changes, prices and Platinum Plus

I like your bottom line on your article. To that I would add, due to all the extra electronics and fluff, it will be less durable and reliable, because it will. I think 22 was the best year for the super duty. Also, that front grill is no less hideous that it was in 23.

    .

I‘m patient and generally buy my vehicles with everything I want, so there’s only a few add on’s I’m interested in. In the case of my taco, I added: Oem ock rails. Pretty much it. I waxed it with some meguiars tech wax a few weeks ago…I’m boring i guess.

The truth about 2024 Tacoma transmissions failing

Super smart idea. In the future, I’m not afraid of engine repair costs, it’s the electronics and screens that concern me.

All new trucks are junk these days?

Are you kidding? 99% of TY commenters are aged 6-10 and have never driven a car or truck outside of a video game. At least, that’s how they come off.

All new trucks are junk these days?

My personal take is that average reliability for cars and trucks across all brands is much higher than it used to be. It’s notable that there are far fewer defects than there used to be while incorporating the EPA efficiency and US Govt safety mandates and consumer technology expectations. It’s...

    Recalls and reliability

You can’t buy what doesn’t exist. A no issue Truck. So you have to make your choices from some hard and some anecdotal evidence. 22+ tundra: Serious Engine issues. Unknown whether it’s been resolved 24 forward. 21+ F150’s: Problems all around that still remain unresolved in 2024. Broken AC...
