AmenSuper curious what you think about it. Finally! A normal guy will be able to review one. It`s quite boring listening to tech bros and early ev adopters that are willing to tolerate everything review this truck.
Are these those goofy electric pop out door handles? So far it feels like I'm still in "learning mode." I literally couldn't get the door to unlock this morning after Physical Therapy. Apparently, it is a one push with the credit card key and then take it away. Oh and I already know I hate the key card and the fact I'm never quite sure if it is on or off. Really fast though and has a turning radius truck guys would love.
Yup.Are these those goofy electric pop out door handles?
That's a pet peeve of mine about electric vehicles is all the goofy gadgetry they have, why cant they just make a normal electric vehicle without all of the silly stuff? if its because door handles would use up range because or air resistance or something I would rather just get .00035 percent less range or whatever it would be.Yup.
Funny story. They called me the day before to see if I could login into the app and unlock the doors for them. Apparently, the detailer brushed her hand against the door handle and then went to get something out of the back door. She realized the person next to her was power washing another vehicle. So she quickly shut the door and dropped the key card accidentally in the back seat. The truck locked the doors and they don't send a spare with press loans.
The app wouldn't let me do it since I hadn't setup the phone as a key feature (you have to be inside the truck which I plan on doing soon.) About an hour and a half later the Rivian fleet rep returned their frantic phone call and was able to remotely unlock the truck.
Well in this case, it would be similar to locking your doors and forgetting the key in it. I agree about the handles, during winter these suck and always get stuck because of ice or grime from the road. That's a pet peeve of mine about electric vehicles is all the goofy gadgetry they have, why cant they just make a normal electric vehicle without all of the silly stuff? if its because door handles would use up range because or air resistance or something I would rather just get .00035 percent less range or whatever it would be.
I feel like with key fob vehicles, the trucks don't let you lock the doors with the key inside. Hmm... I'd have to double check that.Well in this case, it would be similar to locking your doors and forgetting the key in it. In theory if a car thief was hanging out in a parking lot, after you get out and start walking into the store run up and open the door if the vehicle still senses the key fob and start it up and drive off? Would the vehicle shut off after it loses contact with the key fob in the owners pocket?I feel like with key fob vehicles, the trucks don't let you lock the doors with the key inside. Hmm... I think you're mostly right. My truck alerts me, horn chirp and message on screen, that I left the keys in it and shut the doors. I can't say I trust it 100% to not lock.I feel like with key fob vehicles, the trucks don't let you lock the doors with the key inside. Hmm... I'd have to double check that.
Or what about auto pedestrian breaking, say bad guy one walks out in front of the vehicle and it stops and bad guy two jumps into the vehicle and car jacks you because the vehicle wont drive.I feel like with key fob vehicles, the trucks don't let you lock the doors with the key inside. I feel like all of the doors except the driver one locks. But if you lock your doors from the inside, all doors stay lock.I feel like with key fob vehicles, the trucks don't let you lock the doors with the key inside. Hmm... I'd have to double check that.
The sheetmetal will rust off so you won’t need the doors anymore since you’ll have open storage! My main question is kinda weird.
Does it have the storage passthrough under the bed by the cab and if so, how long do you think the doors would last before rusting through from Michigan salt winters?
The proximity area for the truck and key fob is about 5’ or less. It’s possible that your situation could happen. I’ll have to try it one of these days with the wife. I’m honestly not sure what would happen. In theory if a car thief was hanging out in a parking lot, after you get out and start walking into the store run up and open the door if the vehicle still senses the key fob and start it up and drive off?
