My bet is that it goes maybe a city block before shutting down without the fob in the cab.

My Armada would let me drive to my destination while beeping non stop. Just don't forget to never turn it off .

Our Expedition can be driven wherever without the fob once it's started, just don't turn it off. I know this because she keeps her keys in her purse and regularly takes them into the store with her while I head to another. /sigh.
