Hi everyone,
I’m curious how other pickup truck owners prepare their trucks before a long road trip. A quick inspection can help find small problems before they turn into a breakdown, especially when you’re going to be far from home.
Before a long drive, I usually start with the tires and check the pressure, tread, and any visible damage. I also check the engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid, and other important fluids. Belts and hoses are worth looking at as well, especially if the truck has some miles on it.
I also like to check the brakes, battery, lights, wipers, suspension, and spare tire. If the truck has been making an unusual noise, pulling to one side, vibrating, or showing a warning light, I’d rather have it checked before starting the trip.
For anyone who drives their pickup regularly, what is your usual pre-trip checklist? Have you ever found a small problem during a pre-trip inspection that prevented a bigger issue later?
