Hello all,
I just thought I'd give an update on the forum's first year or so from my perspective. I wish, like every part of my business, it was 4000x the size! That's just never been the way the business has worked out for me.
With that said, it is performing well and I'm really happy with where it is at. I knew going into this it would be a slow growth since it isn't a pure fan based forum based on a single vehicle. I didn't want that and I still don't want that. We are adding a few members here and there. Losing a member here or there. That's just life on the internet.
I can tell you behind the scenes that many of the forum posts are trending well. The website gets a nice boost overall from the forum and I'm really happy with what has been created. I've also used a lot of the forum posts as inspiration and I encourage people to check out the forum on every YouTube video now.
I do feel like there is going to be a point in the next year or five years where it is going to catch fire. My feeling is we are going to reach a point where we have the right amount of engaged members it is going to push us over the top. Someday I'm going to login in and it is going to take me an hour or so to get caught up.
I'm grateful for the support everyone has shown so far and for @Fightnfire and @Saddle Tramp for their support specifically as admins. I look forward to @Dusdaddy logging in on the weekends and seeing my notifications explode. The various posts by @Hilux, @Beninbeta, @gmt900, @zonedout and @duggydo. The back and forth with @chaseydog and @TheDo114 on the Banks iDash make me wish I had done a MUCH better job covering that aftermarket part. And everyone else including new members. I'm sure I missed several people and I'm sorry.
I can also tell you this is forum is the first thing I log into every morning and the last thing I check it in the evening. I'm become much less focused and upset over YouTube comments and that in itself has been a massive improvement in my mental health. I appreciate the various perspectives and it broadens my horizons. The perspectives here make me a better journalist and reviewer. For that I'm very grateful.
Thanks for everything.
Tim
