The tariffs happened!

I’ve gotten two emails in the last few days about selling my business. With the politics right now, I have honestly thought about selling. I’m tired of it all.

Then, again, what the hell would I do with my day? I can only play golf and fish/hunt so much.
I’ll ramble a bit here:
Tim, I don’t think you are ready for the rocking chair yet. I know I would miss your posts if you sold your business. Many more would as well. I’m sure the cash out looks good.
I guess you have to ask yourself if you still have the passion for it. If so, perhaps you need to jig with your scheduling a bit?

I have found your posts to be on point and as neutral as anyone can be. People can disappoint you with their comments. It’s an unfortunate aspect of your business.

I’m retired … I retired early (55). My wife and I were very fortunate to be able to retire at that time. Unfortunately, Covid interfered with some retirement plans.
We had a built in part time job of a rental house that kept us busy until we sold it recently but I went through the stages just like Dusdaddy… I felt I had to set myself tasks for every day… almost like a job… took me 2 years to figure out that wasn’t the case. By then covid was on…lol. Life is fun isn’t it?
Anyway, take it easy and follow your heart.

Thanks. I can’t imagine what I would do in retirement.

I’ve been offered $500k in the past. It sounds great, but, again, what would I do with my time? Love me, hate me, tolerate me, I’m good either way.

Unfortunately, Stellantis halting production in Mexico and Canada makes it look like the tariff strategy is working. Will make it take longer to get settled into any agreement.
Stellantis doesn't have much choice, they have way too many brands with little to no products to offer.

I see it as necessary to figure out how to price things accordingly. The other brands are much bigger and will have an easier time of floating the cash until they figure it out. Stellantis never had a lot of cash available. Ford has it easy because most of their stuff is on a "stop-sale" or being recalled anyway....

Thank you! I just wrote it up for the website. Also added some news about a Ford employee plan pricing they just announced. I'm working on another video and I think I'll give it a day to see what else comes out. Probably make this the main topic for tomorrow's truck news recap.

Well now there is more to the story,

Stellantis laysoff US workers

The question is, was that really tariff driven?

I've read some chatter on other sites stating that the Ford employee pricing is a smokescreen to cover all the incentives that they cancelled.

They're saying that Ford was offering $7,000 over trade in value plus other incentives and now it depends on what you are buying (and a lot less).

I don't have yesterday's incentives saved, so I don't know.
