RHO for Tim

I agree with Tim's judgement that the RAM 1500 RHO is both a better truck for the channel's revenue and for his personal use. His children are about to grow fast and will need more legroom. That is a primary concern for family vehicles: rear passengers comfort. There will always be enough room for luggage for trips and, for the big summer adventure, no worries about towing limits. This RHO seems to have created a niche of its own, in spite of the existence of the F150 Raptor. Indeed, RAM decreased the horsepower coming from the TRX but yet, the truck generates a lot of interest and chatter. Thanks to the Hurricane engine, this full size truck seems to deliver power and speed with great ease. To illustrate that point, it would be interesting to compare two RAM 1500s: one with the RHO, and one with the Pentastar. What we need now is for that dealer Tim is in talk with to provide the truck in a reasonable amount of time.

The dealer has been pretty aggressive in reaching out to me. Apparently, there’s a hold on ordering due to some system glitch.

My real bitch is Ram requests a $1000 deposit. I’ve checked with a few dealers and it is the same. They are the only brand that must have a deposit.

Oh and get this. The $1000 deposit is a wire transfer and non-refundable. I told them I’ll pay them when I get paid in a few weeks. I think he’s concerned about getting the order in, but I know Ram PR and I know I can get my truck faster than some. Sucks to play that card, but it is what it is.

That's ok by me. I can't wait to see what you think of that truck when used daily: what the family think, what the available power does for towing, what the ground clearance allows for off-roading and if you are satisfied with the hauling. $1000 should be halved I feel.

Tim, sucks if you won't get that 2KW inverter. Might be a good idea to go aftermarket and have one installed. You can do a big video of the installation and it will demo it for everyone else who wants an inverter. A quick check online and there are plenty under $1000.

So… update! Dealer called me and they said it was available. I made sure it was added to my order.

Who / Where is the dealer you are working with? Thanks
Mark Dodge Chrysler Jeep in Lake Charles, LA.

Tim posts the salesman business card on his YT video. This dealer is well known on the Ram forums as being a reliable source for Rams. They deal in high volumes of sales so they can offer great pricing.

Order update: "Good news, as of this morning the changes that were forced on us for your order have now taken effect – so we should see getting picked up into D1 status for the Limited/Tungsten models very shortly. For the RHO ones probably still a few weeks out. Thank you for your patience with this!"

Update - we are starting to see the first RHO's receive their estimated build date. Consistent with the August 19th start date, we've got a few that have "estimated ship date" of 8/29, which accounts for 10 days to get through production & inspection before heading out to body vendor. They do NOT build in sequence of how they were ordered, and there is NOT an allocation system about X number for each dealer at a time, etc. Ram gonna build in the manner most optimal for RAM :)

In your video on RHO update two weeks ago you mentioned media trucks are almost ready. Any update on when we can expect to see a video of you driving an RHO. Many are curious on what the exhaust will sound like with the different driving modes.

I don't have an official invite yet from Ram. I was lead to believe it was going to be in August and now I'm hearing September.

Haven't heard of any being "spotted" other than potentially some testers in michigan.
BUT we do have over 80 RHO's that are scheduled to be built in the month of September.
unfortunately, none of them are for Mr Tim just yet

Hi Tim, first post. Just a couple questions.... I really like the RHO but I worry about that engine, isn't it the same (or close) as the one in the Wagoneer which I thought has/had some recall/problems? I hear it's a beast but has reliability issues? Also, watching your video the dealership (Mark RAM/Chrysler), you stated they had 300 (or more by now) orders on the RHO so with that guess, how long is that backorder for someone placing an order now? How many RHO do they expect at that dealership let alone across the USA that will be built? Seems like a 6-8months wait at minimum?

Thank you for your time, I appreciate your videos.

In regards to the orders & timing yes almost 400 orders placed. 20% have build dates for September already (scheduled Job #1 for RHO is now listed as 9/9/24). Judging timing on this still extremely difficult because orders have been open since 4/25, production start 9/9, but RAM does not build them in order of receiving nor in accordance with any sort of dealer allocation. Ram builds the trucks in the way that is most convenient for RAM. If you were ordering in September I would be prepared to received your RHO any time between December - January, with Nov/Feb also being outlier possibilities.

Hello, thanks for stopping by!

Yes, it is the same engine as in the Wagoneer. Frankly, I think that's a good thing. That means it has been out for a while and should be getting any recalls or issues fixed before it goes mainstream in the Ram. Of course, any truck (new or used) could have an engine issue.

I just emailed Ram PR to see if there is a status update. My hope is sometime in October/November. I MUST have a new truck in my driveway by December 31 for tax purposes. I'd hate to buy something then have to sell it for the RHO, but if that's what happens, then that's what happens.
