Retire or be fired?

I doubt it since he was just put in charge of manufacturing when he was made COO last May, after the big recall. Before that he was a VP in sales/marketing. And Tundra had its best year in history after he took over. But then again, who knows?

I wonder if this was a retire or be fired type of situation for Toyotas recent troubles?

Retire. He was very well liked in the company and like others have said, he wasn’t in charge of recalls or manufacturing.

What I think is very interesting is he had a LinkedIn post a few days prior saying he was joining social media. He joined X and immediately came out as a Trump supporter. Makes me think many people are nervous about posting their politics for fear of losing their jobs.

It seems we judge people on their politics now more than anything else. It's getting pretty sad when the fires in LA became political.
