I've had my 3500 tradesman for 2 years and find that the seats are stiff and uncomfortable. Aftermarket seating is available from a few manufacturers. Has any here tried an upgrade?

I have not, other than to say that seat comfort seems to be a very individual thing, so what you like or dislike will probably be different than what other people like dislike.

Everyone seems to hate the Chevy/GMC truck seats. We have a 2020 Limited Expedition and they're super plush and soft. Oddly, for a 3+ hour drive the wife and I both would choose the seats in my GMC over her Expedition. They're harder for sure, but they support better.

I should have mentioned my perception of comfort was a comparison to my previous vehicle; RAM 2500 Lariat. In this case the 2500 seating was noticeably more comfortable.

Sharing as this may resonate with someone at some point. I seem to have two options. An aftermarket replacement seat or a custom shop replacement of the seat with softer foam. When speaking to my local pickup outfitters, they say they do the foam change quite often for the Tradesman-level trucks. I was quoted $700, but no way of testing for comfort. The second option is aftermarket. Scheel-Mann makes a Vario F Klima that is very adjustable and has good reviews. The manufacturer gave me two contacts in Texas where I could go and sit in one. The downside is that these cost many times that of the foam replacement. We use our pickup mainly to tow an RV, several thousand miles a year, so comfort is a real issue.

That is interesting. Do they do all the brands? Just curious.

Both the Foam and Sheel-Mann seats can be done for a range of common pickup trucks. Sheel-Mann made the Vario for pickups with lower roof heights. Their main focus outside the Vario is commercial trucks and vans, where height is not an issue.

Have you tried one of those gel cushion as a start? That’s what my dad did for his F250 Tremor XLT. He replaces it every year and it costs him 10$.
