People who reserve one before the factory is ready and then purchase the truck when they start coming down the line.

I've never heard that information being made public unless the automaker wants to tout it. Even then, you can't fact check it. Remember the Cybertruck reservation list that turned into vaporware?

That's kinda what I figured. I guestimate maybe 10% result in purchases but was hoping for hard numbers. Oh well.

It's much lower than that. The Cybertruck had, allegedly, more than 2 million reservations and has only sell around 40K units since launch. A 2% take rate assuming that everybody that bought one, had a reservation.

Ford had around 160K reservations and has only sold 80K units total since 2022.
