Just need to vent. I'm just pissed off at this whole Allison and GM situation. TLDR; GM and Allison didn't come to an agreement on licensing the name for the 10-speed transmission for HD trucks. They are still partnering on the medium duty trucks.
My frustration is I'm getting blasted by haters and I have to wonder if I'm losing viewers over it.
The facts I have are: GM execs couldn't close the deal with Allison over the agreement. Allison will still work with medium duty.
The facts I don't have are: why? Was it really just about the money? What does Allison have to say?
Allison won't respond to any of my inquires. I've called, emailed, etc... I have now created a call for experts on a media website for journalists - Qwoted.

People want me to say Allison clearly walked away due to the crappy GM 10-speed transmission. The timing fits!
---
I don't have those facts. Do I personally think that's the reason? Hell I don't know. Brand deals are signed over long periods of time for multi-million dollars. Would a recall for a valve body and some warranty claims stop Allison from collecting a big, fat paycheck? Maybe. Their newsroom lists multi-million dollar deals they have closed recently all around the world. The LinkedIn profile shows they are at a booth in Italy today touting their latest green technology for transmissions. I seriously doubt Allison is going to bat an eye at losing a license deal when they just secured a $97 million dollar contract for new 2026 Abrams tanks.
Also, why would they continue to partner with GM on the medium-duty trucks if they were soooo pissed off at GM over the 10-speed transmission recall?
Things don't add up.
One commenter pointed out that I'm the only one reporting this news which means I'm in bed with the Big 3. WTF? Now, if I'm first with the news, I'm somehow untrustworthy? BTW, I wasn't first. GMAuthority published it hours before me. I was busy at SEMA.
He further pointed out TFL hadn't published it. Well, TFL ran the initial news on Sunday while I was still trying to Allison to reply to my request. I was going to run a storoy Friday night actually. And oh, btw, I was first on TikTok with the news. Tommy shot a video a few days later for TikTok.
SMFH.
So, yeah. I'm fired up. I also have a news story I plan on running tomorrow where I'm going to blast GM for a really dumb thing they did that's pissing off customers. Look for that one.
