NHTSA fines Ford $165 million, the second-largest civil penalty ever imposed, for failing to meet federal recall requirements. I wouldn’t be surprised if you see more of these fines industry wide. So many new products and enhancements to market. The necessary parts to fix recalls on new product takes time(ie: the recall isn’t fixed in a timely manner).

Tough times...on the one hand we complain about the gov't getting their noses into everything like minimum mpg and fuel types and then on the other, we want them to ensure we get good, safe vehicles by staying on the makers.
