Interesting analysis! Even though the 2026 Ram 1500 has received several improvements with the new Hurricane engines and the return of the Hemi V8, long-term reliability remains a very important factor for buyers. It will be interesting to see how these new engines perform after a few years of real-world use.

It's very interesting to read but does brand loyalty beat reliability? I'm thinking of all the old sports cars from the 60's where the owner would defend the breakdowns and bad design as part of its personality.

Definitely brand loyalty plays a role in people's perceptions.

I remember Toyota telling me they brought in some owners of other brands to interview about why they liked their trucks. One lady said, "My Dodge is the most reliable truck I've ever had! It has only needed three transmissions."

She was dead serious.
