Is an OEM Digital Rear View Mirror Worth It on a RAM 1500?

I have been having a hard time getting a clear view behind my RAM 1500, especially when I have got stuff loaded in the bed or the rear window view is partially blocked.

I've seen some trucks with digital rear-view mirrors that use a camera instead of the regular mirror view. It seems like a pretty useful upgrade, but I'm wondering how well they actually work day to day.

For anyone who's installed one on a 2019–2024 RAM 1500:

=> Is the camera view clear during nighttime and bad weather?
=> Does it work with the factory wiring and interior setup?
=> Is it a fairly straightforward installation?
=> Does the regular rear-view mirror still work if the camera has an issue?

Would you recommend going with an OEM-style digital mirror, or is the standard mirror good enough?

A digital rear-view mirror can be a really useful upgrade if you regularly carry cargo or have something blocking the rear window. Instead of relying on the view through the glass, the camera gives you a view behind the truck.

I'd lean toward an OEM-style setup rather than a random universal mirror. Just make sure the kit is designed for your exact RAM model year and has the correct camera, wiring, and mirror components.

One thing worth checking before buying is whether your factory side mirrors and other features remain compatible, because some retrofit setups can change how the original mirrors function.

I'm associated with Truck Reboot, and we work with OEM-style RAM upgrades, including digital rear-view mirror kits for 2019–2024 RAM 1500 trucks. If you're considering one, check the exact fitment and included components before ordering. It's worth getting those details right rather than dealing with wiring or compatibility headaches later.
