Why are you running premium?
Is it the standard output hurricane?
Looked up some quick numbers and the Ram 1500 4x4 with the 5.7L Hemi was 15/21/17 city/highway/combined.
So you are doing a little bit better than that. That's pretty accurate. Automakers try to achieve 1 maybe 2 MPG improvements with new powertrains.

The dealer gave me a tank of premium, so I thought I would keep using it for a thousand miles or so, get a baseline with premium and switch to regular. After 10k I'll try a few tanks of premium again to see if it makes a difference.

Hopefully it keeps getting in the mid 20's. Seems like the SO runs pretty good though.

I’ll post another tankful at ~5k miles, and if I tow a travel trailer or do something outside of my norm. I’ve done enough to know that this truck will average about 4-5 MPG less than my 2.7 EB in similar driving conditions. With that said, this truck has power and capability significantly beyond my F150. Also, from a creature comfort standpoint, this Bighorn is much more comparable to a Lariat, so it is two trim levels above my F150.
FWIW, I towed a ~2300 lb 6x12’ utility trailer ~18,000 miles and averaged 18 mpg with my F150. I also towed 4500 lb travel trailer from Chattanooga to Florida and back and averaged 10 mpg. (The first photo is on the Dempster on the way to Tuktoyaktuk, NWT. The second is in British Columbia.)

I have a 2025 Ram Rebel and can't get over 16 MPG. Have you heard this problem from others?

Good old wow this thing has a lot of power when I press on it, but why is my fuel economy so bad.
It's hard to manage fuel economy with modern turbo engine, they are pretty much seamless and make it really fun to drive but at a cost.

This is the indicated MPG on the Fuel Economy gauge at the mileage listed below. I reset the gauge at each 1,000 mile interval.

May @ 9056 miles - 25.2 MPG (not a typo, took a trip on meandering highways at ~50 mph)
May @ 10000 miles - 19.7 MPG
June @ 11000 - 19.2 MPG
July @ 12105 miles - 19.3 MPG
November @ 1952 miles - 17.9 MPG

Well the 25 number looks good. That's where I was hoping the hurricanes would consistently be. But 17-19 in the real world is what I've been hearing. I think you said you had a 2.7 Ford before? How do they compare? Have you thought about getting a oil analysis done? I just did it on my 23 hemi it was pretty interesting.
