In a recent letter to shareholders, GM CEO Mary Barra confirmed both a new 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 and 2027 GMC Sierra are coming out this year. I have to ask, what is the point of having two V8s? Just make one and derate it for certain applications if required.
 
Besides the upsell for the fancier trim (😂 and accurate), I do think they should be working on offering more power for the ZR2 and AT4 models.

Makes sense to do the V8s just like Ram did the I6, an SO and an HO.

This will be where someone says they should make a simple V8 with no auto shut-off, no MDS, no turbo, etc. And then one with all the goodies. The problem is, the work V8 will never sell, and it'll die like the reg cab and manual transmission.
