GM 6.2 crank/rod problems fixed?

I am new to this Forum, this subject probably has already been covered. I am aware of the crankshaft/rod bearing fa;ures. GM has recommended using 0w40 oil.
My question is regarding new unsold 2025 trucks still sitting on dealer lots. Is there a real fix in place besides changing weight of oils? It is going to be March in a couple of days, GM is going to have to discount these unsold 2025 trucks. But, I do not want one unless a real fix unless a real fix to the crankshaft/rod failures is in place. I read on another site this problem has cost GM over a Billion dollars.
Thanks for any response.

There isn’t a real fix per se. Basically, if it fails a test, you get a new engine. The heavier weight oil is a consumer piece of mind thing.

I am not sure I trust GM. Heavier weight of oil is kind of a joke.
It is interesting for me to read all the comments on the heavier weight oil. I have some fans who, are like you, think it is a joke. Others think it should have been a heavier weight oil all the time. And then others who want 5w30 instead.
