I’ve always had a process for my new vehicles. I take it easy for the first 1k miles, try to drive at 55 ish actively varying speeds whenever possible. Sometime between 1k and 1.5k I get the oil changed. For Toyota vehicles, I burn the 10k service coupon, which I did today at 1551 miles so I could get the oil and filter changed. Thanks big T for making the 5k service void when I want the oil changed earlier than 10k miles… Anyway, I’ve always had good luck with this and thought I‘d share.
