One question. If I remember to take a time stamped picture of my recalled Dodge Hornet or Alfa Romeo Tony (sorry, too easy) load rating placard, with the VIN plate in the frame, before it goes to the dealer for the recall...Then when I get it back I have less payload capacity, do I have legal recourse, i.e. for Dodge or Alfa to compensate me for the misrepresentation?

I watch Steve Lehto’s YouTube channel. He's a lawyer in Michigan who specializes in lemon law. The channel covers a variety of legal topics but one thing that he mentions fairly often if that the law, and consequently your legal recourse, varies from state to state. It's likely the only one who can give you a valid answer to your question is a lawyer who practices in your state.

If your in Canada I'd imagine laws vary by province but then again they might be nation wide. Either way your only valid answer is likely to come from s lawyer who practices consumer law.

Good points, there is so much specialization and it does vary state to state and get frivolous...I think the O'Sullivan Law Firm is suing Toyota for the pain and suffering Roman's bruised ego took on TacomaWorld.

Speaking of legal troubles of OEM's

Imagine if the European's protested to the GATT about the Chicken Tax? After the Marshall Plan and European liberation only 20 years earlier, not likely, but it probably has saved our domestic auto industry...Or at least made Mexico's.
