Do you ever just go for a drive in your truck?

I do it at least once a week. Let’s me clear my head and think, also driving is fun! Like @Fightnfire said, it’s also great when you want to have a more serious talk with someone, people really seem to open up when driving.

It’s pretty much what prevented me from going into depression when my son passed away. Late night, country roads with no traffic and open windows were and are a blessing.

I'm sorry for your loss but understand also the relief the drive brings

I only told Tim this, but about two months ago my wife suffered three strokes in two days. She also had her AAA drop 2 centimeters. (Abdominal Arota stent.)

Then I had insurance problems on top of it that pushed me to the edge.

I ended up driving until three in the morning to clear my head.

I am sorry for the pain you went through.

Thank you.

Sucks to hear about it, hang in there.

My wife and I would have our best talks when on road trips. It was funny after a while. We actually looked forward to reconnecting just going for a drive. When you are on the road everything else seems to disappear and all you have is to focus on the one topic at hand.

Not to pick up something or to do a job or commute, but to just drive. A moment of time with you and your pickup. Enjoying the scenery or the music.

I think these moments are under appreciated.
My wife and I go for drives like that all of the time. Perhaps with a walk at a waterfront park as well.

I feel for all of you with your Losses and recent trials.

We have been dealing with our own surprises at my end from life lately.
Sometimes, getting out for a drive by myself helps me regain my perspective.

Two things I promised my wife before she said yes.

No entering politics.

No motorcycles. Way too dangerous here in Florida.
If you don't have much 2 lane blacktop to Ride on where you live, yes a motorcycle might not be the best thing. I ride on 2 lane roads 90% of the time. Love the elevation changes and the windy twisty roads. That's what makes Motorcycle riding fun. To me, Highway riding is boring. To straight and too many idiots around me.
