Is GM offering compensation for Duramax owners who continue to make payments while waiting for new engine that is on back order with no clear timeline for the new engine?
 
Unfortunately, no. Not that I'm aware of. However, that's normal for most vehicles awaiting service for a recall or warranty issue. Sometimes extended warranties offer rental coverage but that's usually short term. Loaners can also be made available but that's hit or miss and also usually short term.

I'm not aware of any manufacturers offering compensation for payments while vehicles await repair.
 
The dealership provided me with a loaner during the 3 weeks it took to replace the 6.2 engine in my 2021 Silverado 1500 RST. That was back in November 2022. It was an Equinox. I was able to go to work that way.
