Best Lightbar Setup for a GMC Sierra 1500 Need Advice Before I Buy

Hey everyone!

I recently picked up a 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 and I am seriously considering adding a lightbar to it. I mostly use the truck for off road weekend trips and occasional night driving on rural roads, so visibility is a big priority for me.

I have been looking at both curved and straight bar options, but I am not sure which fits the Sierras grille profile better.

Has anyone here actually installed one on a Sierra 1500?

I would love recommendations on brands, mounting positions, wiring tips, and whether a 40 or 50 inch bar makes more sense for this truck.

Hello,

I've installed and tested a few different setups on the refreshed Sierra 1500s, and one thing I've found is that vehicle-specific mounting kits tend to provide the cleanest fit and easiest installation.

M&R Automotive actually offers three different front lighting options for the 2022+ Sierra 1500 depending on how much output you're looking for.

You can check out all three options here:

As for curved vs. straight, the Sierra's front end works really well with straight bars, especially when they're designed around the factory grille openings. The vehicle-specific brackets make a huge difference compared to universal mounts.

For your use case—off-road weekends and rural night driving—I would lean toward the 40" grille kit if maximum visibility is the goal.
