Allison doesn’t need GM at all. GM co-developed with Ford years ago. This relationship has been on the outs for years.I wonder if it cost to much for Allison to develop transmissions? Cheaper for GM just to do it?
That makes sense. I was looking at it from GM's perspective. I just wondered if gm figures it could get the same results cheaperAllison doesn’t need GM at all. GM co-developed with Ford years ago. This relationship has been on the outs for years.
My understanding is the transmission's not going away, just the Allison badging on the HD's. While this is likely to save GM what ever costs they were paying Allison to use their brand, I do wonder if the loss of the badging will have a negative effect on sales. That makes sense. Winner, winner, chicken dinner. My understanding is the transmission's not going away, just the Allison badging on the HD's. While this is likely to save GM what ever costs they were paying Allison to use their brand, I do wonder if the loss of the badging will have a negative effect on sales.
This may turn into a headache for dealers who have to explain why HD's don't have an Allison transmission anymore, but its still the same transmission
