I would think with the tailgate down that would be about 8 feet wouldn't it?My FIL has a 2000s ear regular cab Silverado with an 8' bed. They used that bed a lot when they were redoing his house for carrying drywall. Now they rarely use the truck at all. Just interesting to me how many people make a big deal about the longer bed. I've hauled a lot of drywall with a 5'7" bed.
It is about 8'. That's how I've hauled drywall for years.I would think with the tailgate down that would be about 8 feet wouldn't it?
With the height of truck beds these days, trailers are usually the better option anyway for hauling lots of stuff like you pointed out.My 2003 Silverado 2500HD is regular cab with 8’ bed. However, for compost I always use my 10’ trailer that can hold just about 3 yards. Also use the trailer for firewood and transporting my UTV. You don’t really need an 8’ bed to haul Sheetrock as Tim pointed out.
Remember when you could load something in the bed over the sides? Ahh...those were the days....With the height of truck beds these days, trailers are usually the better option anyway for hauling lots of stuff like you pointed out.
Agreed. much easier to rent a dump trailer for 60$ and do it that way. With the height of truck beds these days, trailers are usually the better option anyway for hauling lots of stuff like you pointed out.
