40K full sized truck impossible

Tim posted a video where a friend asked why Ram doesn't make a $40,000 stripper model pickup. Tim Kuniskis personally replied to the question. Here's the video.

The comments are exactly what you would expect.

Now I have a few things to throw into the argument.

Is anyone adding the wages, insurance, workers comp, personal safety equipment, toilet paper, and other daily costs of the factories where they build the trucks?

Did they think of the same costs at the other factories where those cars don't sell so the sales of the pickups have to cover the costs of them?

Did they think of where the money comes from to research and develop new engines, battery tech, hybrid systems, safety systems, and other tech and models?

Just a thought.

Thanks. I got busy with my family and meant to post over here.

The YT comments are as expected. Over on TikTok? Holy hell. LOL. 117k views as of this morning and I had to stop reading the comments. People throwing in viewpoints from Australia, China, etc... Jeez. It hasn't even been 24 hours yet for that video.

I'm going to be really curious how much money that video makes. I'll be sure to share.

JD asked the question. I was surprised to see him at the event. He's a good guy and it was a good question.

I think Tim answered it honestly. People think he was lying since all they see are the profits. They don't see the capital expenditures automakers make to sustain their businesses globally. Hard to blame them when the news only reports the massive numbers.

Maybe this would be a great opportunity to invite Tim on your show for a indepth interview of this question.

That would let him bring up all the exprditures and the numbers as well as future costs.

Nahhh, that wouldn't go over too well. He could show the complete books, and every commenter would just say they could do better. It's like when anyone talks about the federal budget. We all agree it's too much but none of us agree on what needs to be cut.

I still state the same thing: It's a business, not a friggin' charity. People whine, bitch and moan but they don't hesitate to invest in those companies that make huge profits. And they are quick to dump the ones that don't. Just more hypocrisy.

Yeah. You're right. The complainers are always going to complain.

As for a sub $40,000 pickup. I have an idea but it would completely never work.

I'll talk about it later.

What I do see is China funding their companies to sell them here even with the tariffs.
