2026 Nissan Frontier vs Ford Ranger

It's funny how close this one hits for me as I was debating between the two in a manner. A 2021 Ranger XLT or a 2022 Nissan Frontier S.

Both are extended cabs, 4wd, and shades of grey. Oddly enough, both were listed without bedliners! The Frontier had less miles. A lot less. We're talking 11,000 vs 56,000. The Ranger was prices lower. $21,000 vs $24,000. The Ranger also came with some serious aftermarket parts such as exhaust and Ranch Hand brush bar. It also has a Roush cold air intake, some sort of turbo breather valve. (I'm not sure what that thing is called.) It might have a tune, too. The Ranger also has a slightly larger payload.

The main deciding factor is that my wife loved the Ranger at first site. So much that she started brow beating me the next day, asking me if we were going back to the dealer to buy it. She even insisted on going back to the dealer and sitting at the desk while I did all the negotiating. I got it for $19,000 out the door and got a bedliner thrown in.

We're very happy with the Ranger and one our mix of city and highway driving, I got 22.4 mpg.

That's why I got the extended warranty. Just in case.
My transmission was always under warranty, but it sucked losing my truck for a week or two at a minimum every year. They also had so many trucks in the shop that the dealer would frequently run out of loaners and Ford refused to pay for a rented car.
