Does anyone know if I can power my front and rear dash cams via the auxiliary battery? It has a motion sensor and I want to leave it on to record whenever it senses motion, but that would drain the main battery, so I can either buy a special battery, or maybe the Aux battery could handle it?

I would wire it to a separate dedicated battery so that you don't accidentally drain your main battery.

I'm looking to find out if the Auxiliary battery can be used for this purpose. I've reached out to the Service Dept at my dealership. Thanks for your reply!

There’s a lot of what ifs and shoulds. Personally I’d buy some game cameras or dash cameras and power them separately. Once you start to mess with the truck wiring or adding new batteries, I think you are just asking for more headaches.

I don't disagree, but if the fuse box allows for extra accessories, if that's what it is made for, then it would work, which is what I'm hoping the dealer will answer. Cheers!

Please let us know what you find out. I found the accessory LI-ion battery when my truck decided I was stealing it and wouldn’t let me start it. I disconnected both batteries for about 15 minutes to reset the computer. I got an email from Ram even though I had opted out of Ram Connect.
