Hey everyone, joined yesterday. 2023 Tundra, stock suspension, factory 20" wheels. Truck does daily duty and tows a 6,000 lb travel trailer a few times a year.
I have been staring at how far the wheels sit inside the fenders and I am finally thinking about tundra wheel spacers. Nothing crazy, just want the tires to line up with the body a little better without dropping $3k on a new wheel setup. I am leaning toward 1.5 inch wheel spacers, but I keep going back and forth on whether that is too much for something that actually gets used as a truck.
The two things I keep reading are: go hub centric wheel spacers, not lug centric, and forged wheel spacers are worth the extra money over cast on a heavy truck. Does that track with what you guys have seen? I also figure if I do this I will need proper lug nuts for rims so I do not chew up the factory studs.
What actually helped me stop guessing was this guide on how to work out the right spacer thickness. It breaks down the measuring side better than the usual forum arguments.
