16 year old tires

Time for new tires, apparently they are sixteen years old and 50,000 miles. I am getting Walmart Goodyear Wrangler Authority 265/75R16, they are pretty good tires as they have held up pretty good on all of the mining and logging roads i drive on.

I was up at the local off road park and I must have got a sharp rock or a stick in the tire.

Don’t tires have an age limit? I swear I read a headline from one of my colleagues about tires aging out.

The accepted wisdom is that you should replace the tires, no matter the mileage, if the tires are 10 years old or older.

That's what I have always known, 10 years. Trailer tires are always the biggest violators. People hate replacing tires that appear perfectly fine.

I'm trying to remember if I ever had tires last that long. Between hurricane debris on the roads as well as shell being in the mix of Florida roads, I don't think I've had a tire last over five years.

Finally got the new tires installed (for some reason Walmart kept canceling the appointment) , they are Good Year Wrangler Authority 265/75R16, the same as the 16 year old tires.
I think they are a Walmart exclusive tire.
