Do you need/want Apple CarPlay in your next vehicle?

Not as easily. If you watched the video, you'll see what happened when I asked Siri to read my text messages. I want to be able to select which text message to read because I don't need my passengers (and the rest of YouTube) knowing about my broken toilet. :ROFLMAO:

What does 'American-made' mean to you?

I think they still have to do this? That's partially where Cars.com gets their info from.

Do you need/want Apple CarPlay in your next vehicle?

The automaker decides how CarPlay appears in your screen. GM purposely made I look ugly and not allow maps to fill out screens because it wants you to use its native system. I've been in plenty of cars that have full screen iOS. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Do you need/want Apple CarPlay in your next vehicle?

My only thing is I want to be able to answer text messages hands free and listen to voicemails while driving. The new GM system doesn't let you do that easy if you're getting into the car with texts and messages already in play.

Do you need/want Apple CarPlay in your next vehicle?

LOL. That's totally fair!! If you've never had it, you probably won't miss it. And I also like to drive in silence. Drives my husband NUTS. But one thing I've become very accustomed to is listening to my voicemails (and deleting them) as well as catching up on my text messaging while I'm driving...

What does 'American-made' mean to you?

I'm always very intrigued by the Cars.com American-Made Index every year -- and the fact that it's rarely a Detroit 3 truck that tops the list. This year, for the third year in a row, the Honda Ridgeline was dubbed the most American truck. Does that sit well with you? How about the fact that the...

Do you need/want Apple CarPlay in your next vehicle?

We had a lot of discussion last night on the Livestream about Apple CarPlay and the fact that General Motors has removed it from the EVs (which could be a harbinger of things to come in gas vehicles). There are studies out there that say 30% of car buyers consider CarPlay a must-have feature...

My 2024 Ford Ranger review posted to Consumer Guide Automotive

I agree with you on all these things. I think it's weird that the 2.7L isn't available and they have no timeline for availability. But, good news, 2.3L is pretty darn good. With re. the air vents, I would have to go back and look to see if other midsize trucks have air vents. A lot of automakers...

My 2024 Ford Ranger review posted to Consumer Guide Automotive

Maybe it was a Jill problem, but a couple of us had issues, so 🤷🏻‍♀️. But surely an owner would get it eventually, right??? FWIW, I really liked the XLT. And I'm a huge fan of cloth seats in general.

My 2024 Ford Ranger review posted to Consumer Guide Automotive

When Tim and I both attend an event, like we did with the 2024 Ford Ranger, I often write it up for other publications while Tim writes our review for PUTT. I combined Ranger and Ranger Raptor into one story, so my review didn't appear until yesterday. So, if you're curious about what I thought...

That one time Genesis GV80 park assist kicked me out of the vehicle 😳😂

It was required when I took my test, and I do still see people teaching their kids in parking lots with cones and trash cans how to parallel park, so I assume it's still a requirement. ...

That one time Genesis GV80 park assist kicked me out of the vehicle 😳😂

Sometimes I feel like technology is leading me to my death. Like when I follow Waze through a shortcut that leads me to an abandoned warehouse district on the west side of Chicago. 😂

That one time Genesis GV80 park assist kicked me out of the vehicle 😳😂

I've actually tried to use park assist to get into my garage before (because neighbor parks to close to the middle), and I haven't been able to get them to activate yet. I'll have to keep trying.

That one time Genesis GV80 park assist kicked me out of the vehicle 😳😂

We talked about park assist last night on the live stream, and we went into the way back machine when I was driving the Genesis GV80 and was testing the system. The vehicle kicked me out. Tim found the video on the channel, so I figured I'd post here for your viewing pleasure. Most park assist...

    Car companies spying on owners

One of the problems per the lawsuit I posted below is a lot of drivers somehow get "Smart Driver" set up without their knowledge.

    Car companies spying on owners

Posted this article yesterday. One GM owner is actually suing GM, LexisNexis and OnStar over privacy violations. His driving data ended up in the hands of automotive insurers, and he got denied by 7 companies, and when he finally found an insurer, it was at double the rate. This is why you don't...
