Is the GM 6.2L still a bad engine?

This reminds me of a Facebook post I saw while traveling through the various airports last week. An owner was praising his GM 10-speed transmission and others hopped on to share how they love theirs as well. I was going to share it to our page as a "see they aren't all bad," but figured it...

I went off three days ago.

Well then. LOL Joel and I have been friends for years and we, like most friends and colleagues, disagree at times. In this case, I tend to disagree with many things. The Ridgeline is a fine SUV with a bed. Some people really like it and others wouldn't be caught dead in one. And yes, I'm so...

Federal Judge Denies Motion to Split GM Lifter Lawsuit over AFM/DFM, Keeping Silverado and Sierra V8 Class Action Intact

The more I have covered these kinds of lawsuits over the years and read some of the official court filings, I'm convinced of two things: 1. Owners and lawyers don't really understand how new engine systems actually work. 2. Automakers settle after a long period of time after the owners/lawyers...

Federal Judge Denies Motion to Split GM Lifter Lawsuit over AFM/DFM, Keeping Silverado and Sierra V8 Class Action Intact

A federal judge has handed General Motors a key procedural victory in the long-running GM lifter lawsuit, denying a late-stage effort by plaintiffs to split the case into two separate legal battles. The ruling keeps the consolidated litigation intact in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern...

Next-Gen 2027 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Spotted – Exterior, Interior, Engines

I agree about the night pics. I've always found it odd that first drive events never include a section of driving at night.

Motortrend Power Wagon vs Silverado EV Trail Boss

Have they lost their minds? Also, did he not realize the rear axle hop was due to having the rear lockers on? Am I crazy or is this just way too out there? https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/comparison-test-2026-chevrolet-silverado-ev-trail-boss-vs-ram-2500-power-wagon

Can You Believe What Engine Powers a 2025 SEAT Arona in Spain?!

I recently purchased a 2025 SEAT Arona to be my main whip at my home in Spain. SEAT is a Spanish brand that made licensed Fiat clones in the 1960s but is now part of the Volkswagen Group. The Arona is a B-Segment crossover built on the same platform as the VW T-Cross, similar in size to American...

    GM 6.2 crank/rod problems fixed?

It is interesting for me to read all the comments on the heavier weight oil. I have some fans who, are like you, think it is a joke. Others think it should have been a heavier weight oil all the time. And then others who want 5w30 instead.

    Hyundai at NY auto show

Interesting, I just got invited to join Hyundai at the NY auto show. I'm on their radar now after the midsize truck article I wrote about them killing the Santa Cruz and bringing a new midsize truck to market. I haven't been to NY in a few years. And I've never been on a Hyundai program. I'm...

    GM 6.2 crank/rod problems fixed?

There isn’t a real fix per se. Basically, if it fails a test, you get a new engine. The heavier weight oil is a consumer piece of mind thing.

    Ruling from the Supreme Court

Better believe I'm watching the USMCA closely. He made a lot of campaign promises to bring jobs back and the USMCA is the last area I can see where that would force companies to change their plans.
