    Used truck on the channel

Hey guys, I’m thinking about buying a 2023 F-150 EcoBoost Tremor with over 50k on it. This brought up an interesting question for myself, as a business owner and journalist, as to if you’d be ok seeing a used truck on the channel? My thinking is: I want to do more comparison video and...

Extended warranty due to new truck prices

Just curious people's thoughts on extended warranties now with new truck prices being higher and trucks filled with electronics. I'm seeing this as something more people are considering these days. I wonder if it is an upward trend to buy them or if it is normal.

Don’t tires have an age limit? I swear I read a headline from one of my colleagues about tires aging out.

2027 Toyota Highlander BEV: 3 Row EV Built In the USA

It certainly feels that way. I was checking views on various YouTube channels this morning. A few had good views and most didn't. We didn't get an invite and, from a business aspect, I'm ok with that looking at the results. I would have lost money for sure.

How automakers calculate GVWR and curb weight

FYI - I asked Ram for an interview with Doug Killian, their chief engineer guy, to do an interview on how they determine GVWR. He is likely the one who made the statement on being the industry standard above. That should be an interesting convo.

How automakers calculate GVWR and curb weight

My guess is that and Ram ProMaster City coming back. Tim K said he wants to bring it back to market. The timing is right before the work truck show which is the largest commercial truck event in the country.

How automakers calculate GVWR and curb weight

I got a Ram invite for the first of March. I really want to have an engineer with me on this one. I’ll see if I can’t get 15 minutes or so. Doesn’t have to be a long video, but I want to go over this and get some insights.

Top 5 Features Trucks Need to Bring Back

Automakers care about fleet customers and luxury buyers. The mid tier customer like the Lariat is the one getting screwed IMO. Paying more for less.

How automakers calculate GVWR and curb weight

That wasn't a PR statement, that was straight from engineering. I'd like to get an engineer on camera though to really explain the process.

How automakers calculate GVWR and curb weight

Yeah I kind of feel like an old school Tim Rant video coming on this topic. I reached out to the NTEA. They do education for aftermarket upgrades for the fleet truck market to see if I could interview one of their experts. I was told they didn’t have anyone but I could use one of their videos...

What used truck buying research do you do?

I had two phone calls and spoke with one guy in person last weekend about used trucks. This got me inspired to redo our website organization and there is now a "buyer's guide" menu along the top with drop downs including "known problems, reliability reports, model year changes" plus some others...

How automakers calculate GVWR and curb weight

So what does all this mean? Is it a story? Man, I don't know. LOL. I have had this stuff sitting in my inbox for two weeks. It all came from a dealer friend of mine who emailed me. He had a customer who was paranoid with over analyzing his weights when towing. He would look at his fuel guage and...

How automakers calculate GVWR and curb weight

I've been working on this for about a week and I'm not sure I am any closer, but I'm curious to know if you care. Do you want to know how automakers actually calcuate GVWR? The closest I've gotten is: "GVWR is something that the manufacturer sets based on FMVSS (safety) and emissions...
