I've been happy with the MultiPro on my AT4. I didn’t think I'd like it as much as I do at first, but after using it I'm sold. I not doing any towing so damaging it on a hitch hasn't been a concern.

It proves that those trucks were easy enough to maintain that dedicated owners, who likely have gone above and beyond normal maintainance have been able to keep them on the road. While this does speak highly of the reliability of the trucks from the 70's I do not see how it proves...
My understanding is the transmission's not going away, just the Allison badging on the HD's. While this is likely to save GM what ever costs they were paying Allison to use their brand, I do wonder if the loss of the badging will have a negative effect on sales.

Any truth to this. I understand the reality was the HD's had Allison branded transmission rather than Allison built transmission's, but seems like a loss for GM all the same
