Stop inadvertently dropping the tailgate on the GMC Sierra

I've inadvertently dropped the tailgate on my 1500 AT4 a few time by hitting the button on the console under the temperature controls.

I found this solution on Etsy. Working good so far and fairly priced.

Pretty much. I've never had a reason to drop the tailgate from inside the truck. It's easy enough to remove if the need or desire to do so arises.

Maybe for fifth wheel or gooseneck, you drop your tailgate and then just back in while staying in the truck, or coming up to a loading dock.

To each their own, I used that button a lot when I had the Silverado. I can see the issue if you accidentally hit it though for sure.
