A question about buying from the factory.

I had a memory pop up in my head. My grandparents once told me of the time they bought a Volkswagen 411 from the factory.

Technically they ordered it from the dealer and VW had a buying package that would fly you to Germany where you'd pick up the car, drive around for a week or two, and then fly you back home while shipping the car overseas.

I was wondering if a version of that would work here.

Would anyone want to order their pickup truck and then get flown to the State where it was built and them tool around for a week with places of interest and hotels picked out by the company for you.

They could base it on your interests.

Vineyards for the Platinum set
Dude Ranches for the Longhorns
National Forests for the ZR-2 crowd

Things like that.

Obviously it would be a very small niche that would do this. Maybe 0.5% of buyers. But would it be worth being offered? Would you be interested?

The wealthy always want special perks. The challenge with the states, is the dealership network and laws. That would have to be handled pretty delicately.

What you don't know is certain plants don't allow tours anymore. Too disruptive I guess.
