Lithia zigs toward older used cars while others zag
Lithia Motors’ president and CEO says some of its dealerships don't charge enough for older used cars and should sell more — while rivals like AutoNation and Penske Automotive are old-car skeptics.
The CEO of Lithia Motors wants to sell more older cars and trucks at their dealerships. They also want to charge more for them.
Personally I don't see the positive in this. They're going to sell these cars as-is and most buyers who shop in that range are looking at price point first. Going to a dealership heightens expectations. I see lot of frustrated buyers walking out, typing mean reviews.
