Toyota has revealed its ninth-generation HiLux pickup to the global market, wearing an all-new design, offering new powertrain options, and available as an electric truck. Toyota sells the Tacoma in the North American market, but has sold the HiLux globally for generations. For all of the wailing and gnashing of teeth auto makers go on about platform sharing for cost savings, they sure drop the ball when it comes to trucks.
 
I agree with you Hilux. Toyota could easily share that platform with the Tacoma. All they would have to do is add softer springs for the Amrican buyers.
