A Maryland family's SUV suddenly caught fire and caused the windows and airbags to explode while the family slept earlier this month in a shocking scene caught on video.

I haven’t heard about vehicles spontaneously combusting in a while. The part that jumps out to me in this article is Nissan won’t be able to come to their house for 6 to 8 weeks. So these people are supposed to let the burned vehicle sit in their driveway that long until Nissan can come investigate? Am I misunderstanding something here or what?

My guess is now that the video is out there as a safety issue that 6 to 8 weeks gets shortened to a couple of days.

Wow. Yeah it has been a while. I imagine the Nissan tech saying 6 weeks was a bad service manager’s decision. I’m sure Nissan corporate will override that decision and be there promptly.
