    Engineers on parts quality

So, let me get this straight... You think an engineer in an interview is full of shit?

New Ram trucks 10 year, 100k warranty is actually a limited-time offer?

Well that seems like a big bucket of ice water on the fire. Whereas before I thought there was a chance for Ford and GM to respond now I think they kick back in their chairs and laugh.

Ford recalls just keep coming in 2025

Hmm, I probably disagree on the Toyota comparison. I don't see a big difference. GM sells alot more trucks than Toyota, and significantly more engines/options, and it looks like they were trying to pin down the cause and struggled to do it, just like Toyota. In the end, they did and issued a...

Ford recalls just keep coming in 2025

I keep answering people on these forums when they ask which truck they should buy that I don't think they can go wrong with any of them. I know I come across as a GM Homer and I've been very happy with my truck and it's zero recalls. I'm also aware they have their own issues. But I just don't...

We now know the minimum for transmission fluid life.

Funny story, I changed the transmission fluid in my 2009 Tacoma at about 15k miles because I drained that instead of the oil. I quickly learned how to pump tranny fluid into a sealed transmission. I can admit that lol. I bought the Tacoma with 11 or 12k miles on it and had decided I was going to...

New 2026 Ram truck warranty raises to 10 years, 100k miles

Yup, I remember that now. I had a 99 and then an 01 (Both had transmission issues) I went looking again in 08/09 and the warranty almost got me but decided to hold off until I bought my Tacoma in 2010 or 2011. I think Ford had been pretty consistent once they got to 5/60 but GM did go up and...

New 2026 Ram truck warranty raises to 10 years, 100k miles

RAM/Dodge actually offered a lifetime warranty in the late 2000's. GM offered a 100k in response for 2 or 3 years late 2000's. Ford never went above 60k I don't think. If they respond I could see it taking a few years. RAM's market share has really fallen off from a high of mid to high 20's...

New 2026 Ram truck warranty raises to 10 years, 100k miles

I also think this move screams a little panic from RAM. When Hyundai/KIA did this it was in response to poor trust, because of poor quality, with US consumers. A couple of manufacturers followed suit in time only to then pull back to the 5yr 60k.

New 2026 Ram truck warranty raises to 10 years, 100k miles

That's a solid move, I'm most excited because I hope it forces Ford and GM to follow suit.

    DODGE recalls the EV Charger..

From a muscle car fan I like the sound, the smell of the exhaust, the rumble and gear changes of high RPM shifts. Is the EV actually better than the ICE version? Or is it pretty good for an EV substitute?

    DODGE recalls the EV Charger..

I know, we're a truck + SUV site but I read this article and thought... hmm. I actually didn't know they had sold a single one. The fancy "fratzonic chambered exhaust" doesn't work as intended in some cases. https://www.autoblog.com/news/dodge-charger-daytona-voluntary-safety-recall-2025

    Any Response?

I mean Tim did specifically call out TK lol, however, I'm trying to wrap my head around the accusation here. Is it that RAM is giving factual news to outlets that play ball the way they want and that those outlets are smeaing the one's not invited?

    Anyone watching LeMans?

No, unfortunately, having a bunch of people over today for my annual big bonfire. So I've been getting ready for that. Do you watch formula 1? That's pretty much the only racing I watch consistently nowadays.

    The tariffs happened!

Unlike a Gates, Bezos or Zuckeberg type which all had an extremely successful singular businesses, Trump was/is heavy into real estate, casinos and property development & management which is a very different beast. There's been four that I know of (some were the same company in the same period)...

    The tariffs happened!

I could be wrong but in the articles I've read I think this is an investment in current facilities and moving production around mostly from planned production in Mexico back to the US. I'm not entirely sure what the other plan your referencing is or the bankruptcy comments, GM has only filed for...

    The tariffs happened!

I guess I don't care if it's for their profit or not, like you I tend to think of course it is, but at the end of the day, it's still an investment at home. That's better than more investment overseas or in Mexico and that's only a good thing.

GM invests $4B in U.S. plants for trucks, SUVs, shuffles EVs

It looks like they will be pulling current production and future planned production from Mexico back to the US. https://www.wsj.com/business/autos/gm-plans-4-billion-investment-in-u-s-manufacturing-cf66fe5a?mod=Searchresults_pos1&page=1

    The tariffs happened!

I don't understand the digging in on some topics if I'm being honest. An American company announces they are investing $4 Billion into local US based factories that, according to what articles are saying, was not in the works a year ago. That's $4 Billion investment in US manufacturing and...
