I like the latest video of the Slate pickup

Here's the video. Ram's CEO is talking to Tim about it. HE is right in saying it will be interesting to see what happens, but it's the comments that make me happy. I own a Ranger and it looks like I have a big pool of people interested if I ever sell it. 😄

Tim and Jill's job just got harder

A judge ruled that AI can use copyrighted material to "learn" how to write its own material. Basically steal. Now mix that with digital animation and you have a real mess. AI videos are weak trash right now, but have it sample someone who was popular and has a large library of published works...

We now know the minimum for transmission fluid life.

Thanks to Tim K we now know that the minimum life expectancy of transmission fluid in a sealed system is 10 years or 100,000 miles. Otherwise the warranty wouldn't cover the transmission. His comments also leads me to think it's slightly over 12 years, but that is conjecture on my part.

    Update on the Tariff list.

Jill posted a great article about what trucks are subject to the tariffs. https://pickuptrucktalk.com/2025/06/which-trucks-could-get-hit-with-trump-tariffs/

    Reaction videos of review videos?

This subject popped up in my "Home/For You" page today. There is a guy who has a channel dedicated just to his reactions of reviews done by MotorWeek. I get fans doing reviews their favorite movies or singing instructors reacting to famous singers, but this seems redundant. Isn't the...

Should Ford bring the Ranger Super Duty here?

The made it for Australia and the rest of the global market but I think the size and capability of it would work great here! The problem is twofold. 1.) That it will take away from the F Series sales that probably have higher profits built in. 2.) It would potentially hurt their "Best selling...

Secret preview of the next Livestream

It wasn't supposed to come out, but I believe I found a clip of Jill talking to Tim during the next Livestream. Have a great weekend guys!

    Crazy thought about "reliable" engines.

Tim has another video out talking about who is to blame for killing the cheap trucks and in the comments were the standard "This group killed the ability to make a reliable engine!". At this point, I've decided that what they really mean is that "This group killed the simple engine!" The thing...

    When is the next livestream?

I miss the fun and spontaneity of your live talks with Jill.

    It's the 8th!

Where's all the new Ram stuff? I even went to the Ram press release site and there is nothing. What time does the embargo end? Stop teasing, Stellantis!

Got some inspiration for my podcast.

I had a lot of this going on this week work wise and I had a busy day helping out family but I was able to get an hour just now to turn things off and reflect. In that moment I good ideas. Now to get the time to record it.

Did you read the news of why electric pickups are failing?

Jill did a great job on this question. Automotive News did a nice "skimming" of the question by hitting the basic numbers, but Jill hit deep with the daily costs, infrastructure, and the psychology of the average full sized truck buyer. That last bit is the biggest part of the entire problem...

    40K full sized truck impossible

Tim posted a video where a friend asked why Ram doesn't make a $40,000 stripper model pickup. Tim Kuniskis personally replied to the question. Here's the video. The comments are exactly what you would expect. Now I have a few things to throw into the argument. Is anyone adding the wages...

Can you do an article about the EV truck purchases?

I wanted to read this article over at Automotive News but it's paywalled.

    Had a slight setback

On Thursday I got something in my eye that ended up scraping it fairly decent in the cornea. It was annoying to the point I used drops and tried to flush my eyes out at the eye station. (Remember to run the water for a bit first to get the rusty water out) It distracted me so much that I...

    The learning curve of podcasting.

After much encouragement I've been working on starting up a podcast. I created the logo (No third party designers), found some fitting intro music, got the sound effects, recorded the general into, and recorded three episodes. The problem is that these episodes are only five minutes long. 😲...

    Truck spotting in Key West

My wife and I just got back from there and I took a few pictures along the way. While I did see some midsized pickups, mainly Tacoma's, I was surprised by the number of heavy duty trucks out there.

    We're getting a Tim Hortons

They are building a Tim Hortons, a Canadian restaurant, right on the edge of North Port, Florida. (Southwest part of the state) Given how many Canadian snowbirds we get, I can see it working well but it brings up a sore subject for me. If Tim Horton's can make the logistics work to bring this...
