Are Leather Seats in Trucks Going Away? Automakers Getting Cheap?

Wow, those are out there and in your face. They look like they are the most forward part of the truck where other makers tend to tuck them back in openings.

Are Leather Seats in Trucks Going Away? Automakers Getting Cheap?

Unless you have a top-off the line model, most of the leather has a plastic clear coat on it so basically any vinyl or interior cleaner is fine. The steering wheel wraps are usually good leather though. Somebody gave me a kit of Lexol branded stuff and it worked great on the wheel. I just won't...

    Washing RHO is a workout!

Sure, but please, we don't wanna see a topless Tim covered in suds washing his truck to '80s hair-band music.

Are Leather Seats in Trucks Going Away? Automakers Getting Cheap?

Well, for Ram, it used to be that only the Limited/Longhorn got all leather seats. Laramie and below got leather seating surfaces only. That's what I have. Not sure what it is now. They bury it in the fine print somewhere. I'd still rather have quality cloth. Or at least cloth on the seating...

Manual seat vs Power seat (cushion tilt)

It's really not bad because powertrain issues are always the most expensive so having that extra coverage is nice. The hemi lifter issue is usually $5-6K, and the exhaust leak which happens over and over is usually at least $1100. But when I lost heat to my passenger mirror? $50 fixed it.

Manual seat vs Power seat (cushion tilt)

Is Mark Dodge still offering ~$12K off sticker? Not a bad deal. Somebody else was showing a dealer in Kansas that was selling 2500 Tradesman Powerwagons for $49K from an MSRP of $64K. He called and found out they had repaired hail damage before being delivered to the dealer so they must be sold...

2025 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro Review: Power, Personality and a Few Puzzling Choices

Not exactly a good demonstration though. The Hybrid hits a higher tq at a much lower RPM than the others. Sure, shitty in a drag race but pretty damn good off-road. As an old Jeep I6 guy, I love low end tq. It's definitely a "gadget" truck though that's extremely limited for an everyday driver.

2025 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro Review: Power, Personality and a Few Puzzling Choices

Nice truck. The buyer of this model won't even blink at the price. They're buying for the Pro logo.

    Automotive YouTube Channel Are Struggling

That and how the presenter/reviewer does it. Some are very "these are the facts" nothing more which is oh so boring and others tend to let their obvious prejudices toward one brand or another shine through. You have always been very objective in your reviews. I honestly couldn't identify if you...

New Jeep Gladiator V8, Dodge Durango Jailbreak?! Stellantis Returns to Old Playbook, Smart?

Agreed, the Gladiator is too much of a "lifestyle" truck, just like the Wrangler is a lifestyle SUV. I'd buy it for the fun of it but not because I needed a truck. Kinda like buying a sportscar for a commuter.

Can A New Ford Midsize EV Pickup Recreate “Model T” Moment Save Struggling Business?

That Sierra EV is the only one with some legs but they're still pretty short ones. One thing I found interesting with the video below was that weight of the trailer had little to no effect on efficiency. The wind resistance dragged the efficiency down much more than weight. And if you home...

Can A New Ford Midsize EV Pickup Recreate “Model T” Moment Save Struggling Business?

EV trucks will always have the stigma of not being able to tow over a long range. Regardless of whether the owners actually own a trailer or ever plan to tow. Not sure how they'll beat that until battery density increases. I know a local guy who just wanted to tow a boat to the lake and only got...
