GM Defines “Normal” Oil Consumption for Trucks as Owners Say Huh? 1 Quart/2k Miles

I get engines burn oil, but it seems much more common with GM. I have heard of Fords and Rams doing it but nowhere near as often. I wonder if it is just as common or it really happens more often in GM. And if so, why.

Ford Recalls Nearly 20M Vehicles, Nearly 5 Times More Than Others in Past Year Study Finds

The numbers really are crazy. One of the oddest things in the business. And I get the argument that "At least they identify the issue and fix it" but it still, It's the constant visits to the dealer that sours it for me. Especially when you find out parts are not available.

Is Kia wildly optimistic about sales?

I doubt it but I also never thought Ford would sell twice as many Mavericks as Rangers.

Choosing the Right Workshop Service Repair Manual

I've always used the OEM version. I got a digital version of the factory manual for my Ram. Works great. I've never used the aftermarket versions.

Best Truck Towing Mirrors of 2026: Which Ones Don’t SUCK?

The large mirrors are great if you are towing wide boxy trailers. But Ram must have gotten a lot of complaints because they have separated their Dumbo-ear towing mirrors from the towing package. Now, you can get the towing package with brake controller, rear-steering, and trailer TPMS without...

2026 Q1 Truck Sales: Ram Turns It Around, Midsize Truck Battle, Lots of Red Figures

I was surprised Ram kept that 10/100 warranty into April. Now I see why, you never screw with a streak. Tim Kuniskis must still be seeing lots of cross-over sales from the other brands.

6 Things We Do Know About Toyota’s Raptor-Fighter, “TRD Hammer.”

With these higher speed limits, I'm always too high rpm. If I slow down to 60mph like they test, then I can hit the high teens!

    2.7 GM Turbomax Engine

Actually, I was surprised the tow rating is quite high. Around 9K in certain configs. Better than the V6 in a Ram. Should be plenty before needing to switch up to a 2500.

    Stellantis Hurricane 4!

Just finished watching Jason's take on this new I4 from Jeep. I knew it was innovative but didn't really think it was that innovative! To impress Jason with engineering isn't easy. The wild thing I picked up on was the lack of EGR. Didn't notice that from previous videos.

    GM's 2.7 Turbomax .. getting a boost?

Seems about right for an entry level engine. Great towing towing numbers for a 4 banger though.

Is the Ram 1500 Hurricane Engine Reliable?

Unless a big supplier issue pops up, looks like it is doing fine relative to some others. The Ram electrical issues seem to be the bigger news but even that appears to be dying down. I'm shocked they have yet to rectify the Etorque parts supply issue. Seems like someone would jump on that...
