    First long distance run.

Drove from NC to NJ and back over the Memorial Day weekend to visit family. This was the first long distance highway run for me in my AT4 3.0L. About 670 miles each way, averaged 30 mpg. Filled the tank before I left NC, didn't need to refuel until i reached my destination in NJ, and still had...

Thoughts on over the air updates

To my understanding the vehicle thefts are primarily due to the ease with which criminals can scan and duplicate the key fob code, which is why I keep mine in Farady pouches. This is a separate issue from OTA updates. I haven't read of any successful hacks on OTA updates, but may have missed...

    Nissan Murano bursts into flames

My guess is now that the video is out there as a safety issue that 6 to 8 weeks gets shortened to a couple of days.

best product to protect the paint on new vehicles

I just picked up a bottle of CarPro Reload 2, which I hope to apply this evening. At some point I'll do a full ceramic or graphine coating, but for now a spray on that lasts 3 months seems like it will meet my needs.

    2025 RAM ISSUES

My AT4 was built in Mexico, the engine and transmission in the US. As with your Sierra the fit and finish on my truck are top notch.

    2025 RAM ISSUES

A video on this popped up in my feed last night. I watched a bit of it, but it was a YouTuber I've never watched before and a Google search didnt reaveal any other sources to validate the claims. I dismissed it as 'someone has more agenda than facts'. I do agree though there must be easier, and...

Aftermarket parts, dealerships and voiding warranties

Glad it worked to yo Glad it worked to your advantage. I'll be taking my AT4 to the dealer in a couple of weeks for the free first service. Not sure if I'll remove the iDash. Its in a Banks Stealth mount so its a bit more involved to remove. Im thinking I'll just disconnect it. Im curious to...

Is YouTube oversaturated with automotive content?

Not a video and not a pickup truck but I'm reading Tom Cotter's America's Greatest Road Trip Keywest to Deadhorse. Tom's the host of the Barnfind Podcast. The trip was done in a Ford Bronco and Airstream trailer sticking to back roads for most of the 9000 miles. Not much on the truck in the...

No idea what 14 year old trucks are selling for but 94,000 seems pretty low for such an old truck.

Hey Jeep! I found your lost 10mm!

Ironically thats part of the problem. If tools are easily replaced then very little time or effort is spent finding the missing tool. A 10mm socket laying in the engine bay of a jeep may not lead to bad things. The same 10mm socket in the high pressure compressor stage of a jet engine is going...

Was curious if anyone is using a dashcam. If so is it simply for piece of mind, has it actually paid off having the video in an accident or theft?

    Calling for hail tonight

That would be a review I'd watch for certain. We don't get hail often enough that I'd consider buying one but I'm still interested in seeing how effective they may be.

    Calling for hail tonight

Happy to report no hail last night. I did learn a few things though. If I clean the garage out a bit more and consign my self to angle parking I could park in the garage. I also learned that I don't have much room to spare height wise, so if I go ahead with the 2" lift I'm planning the garage is...
