I test drove a 24 trd sport + and I would agree that it feels underpowered, I had a 2006 Tacoma 4x4 4.0L and it was way better in the power delivery dept.

I have a 2022 XLT 4x4 2.7 and its been good, other than some strange transmission shifting sometimes and hard down shift from 5-4 when its cold. I have no real complaints aside from that.

it was a TRD sport + . dont get me wrong. I love the look of the new Tacoma inside and out. looks amazing, I really wanted one and I am going next week to take an off road for a test drive. I was just unimpressed with the take off power. I am trying to convince myself that I like it haha...

i have driven it, I was unimpressed, my daily is a 2022 F150 2.7 4x4 and the new tacoma trd sport unfortunately does not compare at all. I felt it was completely gutless. it was also quite noisey if you really got into the gas, strange rattle noises.. i was surprised, maybe expected too much...
