Great discussion on how reliability data works and where it can fall short on being useful

Yes to all, especially the engine data and only liking 10 year old sedans. Plus, as I mentioned earlier, there's a reason some of the cars show up near the top. I think trucks struggle with them because they don't have testers that understand what a truck is. That seems to cause them to over...

2026 Dodge Hornet delayed, future uncertain due to tariffs

You're not wrong but I guess I'd like to see that challenged in the article? Why is Stellantis, Dodge and Chrysler struggling? Is it really the tariffs or is there significantly more to the story like killing their best-selling sedans and going EV only versions, completely ignoring the Durango...

Great discussion on how reliability data works and where it can fall short on being useful

That's basically it, plus it struggles with confirmation bias and the average consumer wants to defend what they have purchased, which is why the more a vehicle sells the more popular it is and the more positive ratings it gets as shown in the video. Plus, they seem to reward the vanilla and...

2026 Dodge Hornet delayed, future uncertain due to tariffs

All I see is terrible decisions up and down the lineup lol.

2026 Dodge Hornet delayed, future uncertain due to tariffs

Does blaming tariffs really work here? The Hornet was a bust long before Tariffs were on the table, it was a bust while it was still on the drawing board. As you noted in the article, first half sales in 2025 were down over 50% from 1st half 2024. 20k total sales in 2024 and noted for being one...

Great discussion on how reliability data works and where it can fall short on being useful

Good video and the first one I've among the journalists covering vehicles that breaks down how CR works, especially with examples. I've had issues with CR for years before I ever got into the truck area. Just always seemed incomplete and biased. The bias also seems to be self fulfilling. It's...

2025 Ford Expedition posts best sales result in 20 years, beats Chevy Tahoe

The Expedition includes the Expedition Max because you know, Ford number games. Whereas the Tahoe doesn't include the Suburban. Nor does the Yukon include the Yukon XL. Add this whole segment together as it should be and GM still dominates with similar market share as most other years. I think...

New Ram trucks 10 year, 100k warranty is actually a limited-time offer?

Well that seems like a big bucket of ice water on the fire. Whereas before I thought there was a chance for Ford and GM to respond now I think they kick back in their chairs and laugh.

Ford recalls just keep coming in 2025

Hmm, I probably disagree on the Toyota comparison. I don't see a big difference. GM sells alot more trucks than Toyota, and significantly more engines/options, and it looks like they were trying to pin down the cause and struggled to do it, just like Toyota. In the end, they did and issued a...

Ford recalls just keep coming in 2025

I keep answering people on these forums when they ask which truck they should buy that I don't think they can go wrong with any of them. I know I come across as a GM Homer and I've been very happy with my truck and it's zero recalls. I'm also aware they have their own issues. But I just don't...

We now know the minimum for transmission fluid life.

Funny story, I changed the transmission fluid in my 2009 Tacoma at about 15k miles because I drained that instead of the oil. I quickly learned how to pump tranny fluid into a sealed transmission. I can admit that lol. I bought the Tacoma with 11 or 12k miles on it and had decided I was going to...

New 2026 Ram truck warranty raises to 10 years, 100k miles

Yup, I remember that now. I had a 99 and then an 01 (Both had transmission issues) I went looking again in 08/09 and the warranty almost got me but decided to hold off until I bought my Tacoma in 2010 or 2011. I think Ford had been pretty consistent once they got to 5/60 but GM did go up and...

New 2026 Ram truck warranty raises to 10 years, 100k miles

RAM/Dodge actually offered a lifetime warranty in the late 2000's. GM offered a 100k in response for 2 or 3 years late 2000's. Ford never went above 60k I don't think. If they respond I could see it taking a few years. RAM's market share has really fallen off from a high of mid to high 20's...

New 2026 Ram truck warranty raises to 10 years, 100k miles

I also think this move screams a little panic from RAM. When Hyundai/KIA did this it was in response to poor trust, because of poor quality, with US consumers. A couple of manufacturers followed suit in time only to then pull back to the 5yr 60k.

New 2026 Ram truck warranty raises to 10 years, 100k miles

That's a solid move, I'm most excited because I hope it forces Ford and GM to follow suit.
