GM 6.2L V8 Engine Issues Worsen: Post Remedy Engine Failures Lead to ODI Recall Query

Didn't Toyota issue a recall saying they had addressed and fixed the issue with updated processes at the facilities for cleaning the debris out of the engine...and then not respond as engines produced after the debris cleaning processes went into place kept grenading for two+ years? Not to...

2026 Ram 1500 Black Express Towing Review: How the Standard-Output Hurricane Handles a 5,200-Pound Camper

Thanks for the clarifying the numbers. .7 off (7.9 actual) at only 8.6mpg is 8.9% . So, if a truck was showing 20mpg on the computer it would actually be getting 18.22 hand calculated. That seems pretty far off to me. 7.9 also seems pretty bad. Realistic range of low to mid 180 miles. Just...

2026 Ram 1500 Black Express Towing Review: How the Standard-Output Hurricane Handles a 5,200-Pound Camper

Tim, a couple of follow up question about this article, specifically this paragraph. "Fuel economy was initially disappointing, showing around 7.3 mpg at the midpoint of the test. However, over the full 50.5-mile loop, the average improved to 8.6 mpg. A follow-up fill-up confirmed the trip...

Second Toyota Tundra Engine Failure Recall Issued Due to Thousands of Failures: Two Fixes Confirmed

That sucks, sorry to hear it. I'm speechless that consumer reports continues to think that recalls doesn't really equate to reliability. Sham.

Second Toyota Tundra Engine Failure Recall Issued Due to Thousands of Failures: Two Fixes Confirmed

The frustrating part is so many people saw the recall, assumed it was just a simple debris cleaning issue, and bought those 2023, 2024 etc. But nothing had been fixed... I would be so pissed if I had bought after the recall.

RV Camera - Poor mans version

I don't have a camera on the rear of my trailer. I just don't see the need for it. If it came wired and ready to go ... I would probably use it becasue why not, but I don't and haven't had an issue. Post the part # though, I'm curious.

All new trucks are junk these days?

I don't get the need, or desire, to compare the junk of today to the junk of yesterday. Or, the good of today with the good of yesterday. With where we're at today, people are just expecting the new vehicle they purchase to work. Maybe it's because their expectations have changed. Maybe their...

    Ford kills F150 Lightning

It's interesting, that truck had a lot of hype. It was the first EV I heard discussed in with friends over dinner and drinks. One of my best friends strongly considered buying one but when he stepped back and looked at the reality, it just didn't make sense.

Second Toyota Tundra Engine Failure Recall Issued Due to Thousands of Failures: Two Fixes Confirmed

Tim, I watched the YouTube for this one and you're cracking me up lol. You fight so hard to not blame the manufacturer. The article states "Two relevant production periods at the Alabama plant were identified between the production period covered by recall 24V-381 and the implementation of a...

2025 Ram 1500 RHO 15k Mile Owner Update: Battery Failure, Fit-and-Finish Woes Emerge

This comment isn't related to this post specifically but I watched your video about the gas mileage in the tradesman RAM and your comments after about how accurate the computers are. Then I swear YouTube played its algorithm game and gave me TRDJons long-term review of his RHO which has been...

These Top New Trucks and SUVs Like Toyota Tacoma Aren’t Selling, According to Study

I've been saying in these forums for over a year that the competition caught up, and in places, passed the Tacoma. So what did Toyota do? Raised the price. Smart.

    Light-weight oils - which is thicker 5W30 or 0W40?

In winter at cold temperatures the 5W30 is thicker on start. Once the engine is up to operating temperature the 0w-40 is thicker. I watched a little bit of that video, I thought you were talking about 0W20 because that's what they use in the standard output and 0W40 in the high output...

Improved Toyota Tundra Scores Help Toyota Reclaims Consumer Reports Reliability Crown, Despite Engine Failure Recalls

@testerdahl , do you have actual numbers from the Toyota and GM 6.2 recalls? Is Toyota replacing all of the engines recalled whereas GM is replacing some of the 6.2's recalled? From what I'm seeing that seems to be estimated at 3% right now or about 18,000 total units in the US. I bring it up...
