    40K full sized truck impossible

Nahhh, that wouldn't go over too well. He could show the complete books, and every commenter would just say they could do better. It's like when anyone talks about the federal budget. We all agree it's too much but none of us agree on what needs to be cut. I still state the same thing: It's a...

GM 6.2-liter V-8 recall oil type clarity for engine failure

To be honest, most of the confusion appears to be coming from social media sources. Sure, some simply report the facts like you did but others stretch it out into "what-ifs" and "my interpretation". You get different stories from each one. The NHTSA website isn't the most helpful either. They...

Did you read the news of why electric pickups are failing?

Read Jill's article finally. I have to agree with her points for the vast majority of truck owners. We are different. We're very stubborn and stuck in the past. Stuff like "only a diesel with 8ft bed will work" type of thinking. I personally don't mind the idea of it, for me, it's simply...

    New engine and vehicle reliability?

Simple AI searches are prone to giving out "summarized misinformation". It's often the greatest example of "garbage in/garbage out" that exists. All they can do is gather all the info there is and count it without checking the source for any sort of accuracy. So, every one of those "doom &...

    New engine and vehicle reliability?

These are my exact thoughts as well. Yep, there are some common issues out there like DFI & dirty valves. Or any of the multi-displacement systems causing issues with lifters but most of the actual catastrophic failures are so rare to be insignificant. Like Tim says, it's the additional small...

New 2025 full-size SUVs Compared: Tahoe, Expedition, Armada and more!

You're right. Unless you have that crazy big budget, it's exceedingly difficult to do a legitimate detailed comparison. I've jumped out of my Ram and in my cousin's Ford, and I really don't feel much of a difference. They just both work and work well. I would have to drive both for a month so...

    New engine and vehicle reliability?

You really think there is something to all this? I really don't put as much into the perceived engine issues. So much of it seems exaggerated. Sure, the recall of the GM and Toyotas are legit but traced to specific manufacturing issues. That's happened plenty of times before. Don't get me wrong...

    Had a slight setback

It's all fun and games until you put an eye-out. I remember having constant eye pain one morning but couldn't find anything. Went to the eye doc asap and he found a tiny eyelash stub embedded in my lid that was pointing straight at my eye. Like a hair-sliver.

New ILSAC GF-7 motor oil standard boosts engine protection, MPG

Happy birthday Heather! You're not missing much in the comments. Same ole' crap about thin oils and "Fu** the EPA!" type stuff. The only thing directed at you were comments about you saying "oh-W" vs. "zero-W".....lol. Pretty desperate complaints. Enjoy camping. Just got back from a long...

New ILSAC GF-7 motor oil standard boosts engine protection, MPG

🤷‍♂️ Every time trucks get rated on their mpg, this will be the result.

    Silverado Seat Comfort

Maybe some of that $888 million should go into seat development vice a new V8. Wouldn't that be nice?

Ford recalls 1.1 million vehicles: rearview camera software glitch

They don't consider recalls. At least not in the reliability section but they do in the vehicle's Overall Score. When they do reliability, the numbers come from owner surveys, not their testing. They don't own them long enough to judge reliability I would assume. I took CRs annual survey for...

    3.0 L diesel 1500 vs 6.6 L diesel 2500 Silverado

Like others said, what else besides towing? Plus, how often do you tow/haul? I know plenty of farmers and local workers that love those little diesels in a 1500 and work them daily. Does everything they ask when towing. But if you haul heavy, you need to drive heavy. I tend to remember the old...

GM issues stop delivery on L87

That's funny, I just read that myself and came here to see if anyone else saw it. I love how they did the math and showed that over 200,00 miles, the extra fuel amounts to $4,400. And that's if the mpg drops. What an unbelievable waste of the court's time. Gonna be great for the law firm though.

2022-2025 Toyota Tundra recall: 443k water intrusion

Well, they generally get knocked on for being too conservative in their tech and design. Seems like the old saying of "Good initiative, poor judgement" works well here.

2022-2025 Toyota Tundra recall: 443k water intrusion

They never test enough of them. Sounds like the Ram recall with CHMSL leak. Wasn't a safety issue but sure sucked getting your headliner soaked and finding a puddle in your rear seat.

    EPA killing auto start stop?

Automated with AI search engines looking for key words. My old company actually did this to identify poor reviews to get on top of issues. Edit: Let me add, the search part was automated. A human from CS still had to watch it.

    EPA killing auto start stop?

That is funny that they don't already know what is said on every video out there. You'd think they'd have someone in a room, watching every bit of media on current issues or recent releases just to see what's being said. There is a video out there right now from DONSLIFE that is claiming to have...
