As an interesting aside the dealer told me the trouble shooting and reapair would take 4 - 5 hours, offered me a ride back to work, and introduced me to Willie, their driver. Super nice old guy, told me all about planting tomatoes and how one of his neighbors had shot out the drivers side window...

CEL was back again yesterday. Brought it into the dealer this afternoon and they updated the ECM. After updating the ECM everything tested out good so no need to change out any sensors.

New layout with WAY more ads?

Hopefully an easy fix. At the moment the site is pretty hard to read on mobile.

CEL was back on Saturday morning but once again cleared itself later in the day. It's now Monday morning and the CEL has not come back on. I called the dealer and asked if there was any point in bringing the truck in. They told me that they could let me know what code is in memory, which I...

Subscription fees in trucks: yay or nay?

My main gripe with the subscription model is that they are not offering us anything we dont already have. Why pay for OnStar if 90% of what it offers I can already achieve through Android Auto or Carplay. OnStar is a huge revenue source for GM. I'm guessing one of the metrics they measure...

Once again the CEL has already cleared itself. I'll call the dealer Monday morning to see if theres any point in bringing the truck in. The GM app is still showing an emissions fault, though I haven't noticed any loss of performance or mpg.

4500 miles later, and I've got my second CEL once again for P2297. Looks like I'll head back to the dealer. Now that I'm throwing a code, I'm going to get them to update the ECM per TSB 24-NA-094.

Quite different from my 24 LZO. I've got 7000 miles and according to the iDash get about 160 miles between regens, which puts me at about 42 regens in total. My driving is 90% city, 10% highway. Did you pull the data off an iDash? I have the data monster but I pretty inconsistent about turning...

I got a problem with the GMC Canyon AT4X AEV edition!

Im a fan of the GM Highclearance. Enough of a step for me to easily get in and out of the truck, yet unobtrusive enough not to ruin the lines of the truck.

I'm still around 3500 miles from my first fuel filter change. I haven't priced it out yet.

    GPF in the 2024's

That video is 8 months old. To the best of my knowledge Ford has not added GPF to any NA vehicle. Not saying its not going to happen eventually, but 24 seems like a wash.

My cost for the oil change I did myself was about $65 for ACDelco DexosD 0w-20 and a PF-66 filter. I'll be doing all my own aervice work. I'm planning on 5k intervals for oil and tire rotation and 10k for fuel filter and air filter.

The bottom graph depicts the regen trigger, with a value of 1 meaning regen is off and a value of 3 meaning the regen is active. The regen runs from 786 to 1571 seconds, or just over 13 minutes. I've never had a need to try running a standing regen. As far as I know thats an option on fleet...

I hit a regen this afternoon and captured it on the Banks iDash. EGT1 Temps were in the 600 to 800 degree F range with a high of 827. This was city traffic with a couple runs where I could open the truck up to 45 -55 mph.

I went back a d looked at a snapshot I took of my iDash a while back when performing a city driving regen and I was hitting 722 degrees F on EGT1. I'll try data logging next time I get close to a regen. Intersting about how they clean the DPF in Europe. I did not know that.

I did have a P2297 CEL at about 3000 miles. The CEL cleared itself later that day and I haven't had any CEL's since. I'm now at 6500 miles. At the time the dealer told me there was no TSB for that code. Since that time GM has released a TSB for the 24 LZO that covers a dozen or so emissions...

I started off looking at Colorado/Canyon but moved on to the 1500 when I decided a full size truck was a better option for me. By that time the GMC look had won me over and the choice was between the AT4 and the Denali. The AT4 won that battle so the choice at that point was the 3.0L or the...

I've got about 6500 miles on a 24 AT4 3.0L. My daily drive is 6 miles each way to work, plus some additional miles running errands. On weekends I'll usually put another 50 - 100 miles on the truck doing longer runs. No towing. A regen typically takes me 10 - 12 miles at 35 - 45 mph. I'm hitting...

    Hitch advise

I was planning on picking up a 56" US General lower cabinet and hutch from HF next time theres a sale. I'd likey rent a 6x10 utility from Tractor Supply. The trailer can hold 2000 lbs, I'm guessing the cabinet, hutch, and any packaging would be about half of that.

I'm looking to buy a trailer hitch for an AT4. My short term need to for a utility trailer I'm intending on renting to move a tool cabinet. Other than that I don't have any other near term plans for towing but may purchase an overland camping trailer in 4 to 5 years when I retire. What should...
